Although the silicone formulation in this product appears to be quite effective at treating scars but its inclusion of a vitamin C ester may actually reduce its potential effectiveness. While vitamin C is known to reduce pigmentation and brighten the appearance of the skin, it also promotes the formation of collagen which is the primary component of scar tissue. Additionally, studies have shown that the most dramatic results of silicone are achieved from undiluted formulations.
